Vancouver Recruiters

Dear HR managers and business owners,

Thanks for making the first issue of PeoplePulse a success! We received many comments and welcome feedback from all of our subscribers.

Last month we asked the question, "What is the biggest employee issue that you have had to deal with recently?". Scroll down to the bottom to see what others had to say about their biggest employee issue. This month we are focusing on how to hire, so we ask, "What would you base your hiring decision on?" Once you cast your vote, you'll be able to see the current results. The final poll results will be posted in next month's issue and on our website.

If you have an employee issue or hiring question that you would like to know more about, please let us know and we will include it in our next issues. Keep the suggestions coming!

You can now easily forward this issue to a colleague or friend by clicking the link in the subscriber box at the bottom of each issue. Subscriptions are still complimentary, so pass the word along to anyone you think would benefit from receiving this publication.

Cheers,

Bob Murray

Recruiting

Personality counts: Psychological tests can help peg the job applicants best suited for certain jobs.

Often during the past decade, Tim Burke, CEO of Quesi, a technology consulting and management company based in Sacramento, Calif., has had trouble finding the right people for jobs. Although everyone seemed qualified when hired, he says, the company "had a number of misfits consistently, and that bothered us. Some of our biggest challenges have been when we've hired a person who is not right for the job."

Retaining

I quit! Overworked employees are fed up: Survey finds 8 out of 10 people want a new job.

Ready to quit? You have plenty of company. Many employees are overworked, stressed out, fed up -- and eager to quit their jobs once the economy picks up. In fact, wokers angst is so pronounced that it has surprised even the most tuned-in human resource professionals. Consider for example that more than eight in ten workers plan to look for a new job when the economy heats up according to a survey by the society for Human Resource Professionals.

Order a Prevue Assessment in April and Save 50% on a second one.

What can a Prevue Assessment do for you?

It can be used to select the best person for the job, promoting the right person, coaching existing employee for better performance, succession planning, and developing job benchmarks. The benchmarks can be designed to be specific to a company, a department, a supervisor, or a particular location.

The Prevue Assessment System is a highly advanced tool for assessing work-related qualities. No two people are identical - each person has a unique mixture of qualities that are important to understand but difficult to measure.

The Prevue Assessment yields four reports: an individual report, a hiring report, a coaching report, and a succession-planning report. These reports answer key questions such as:

  1. Can the person do the job?
  2. Will the person do the job?
  3. Does the person have the personality to enjoy the job?
  4. Does the individual fit the job?
