Vancouver Recruiters

Dear HR managers and business owners,

And just like that, summer's over.

If the fall is a period of increased activity and workforce expansion for your business, now is the time to start thinking seriously about your upcoming hiring needs, before they turn from needs to problems.

You don't want to still be scrambling for qualified candidates just when you should be ready to kick into high gear. And it frequently becomes a scramble. The average in-house hire takes between 50 and 60 hours of company time, 50-60 hours that often can't be spared in the face of other, more immediately pressing needs. Recruitment gets put on the back burner, and before you know it the smoke alarm's going off; your customers are at the door, but you don't have the staff to deal with their demand. Business is lost, sometimes for good.

Now is the time, then, to think about the alternative to that scramble through the smoke: People First Solutions. Let us find and screen the qualified candidates you need to run your business, and we'll let you get down to work.

Cheers,

Women in the Workforce

In 1921, just 20% of women worked. Even among those, once you got married the odds were that you would leave the workforce. As late as 1951, just 11% of married women worked. Today, women make up 47% of the workforce.

The Worldwide War II for Talent is Coming

Do you remember the war for talent in the late 1990s? Well get ready, because it's about to return with a vengeance. This reincarnation of the war for talent will differ from the last in that, instead of being a localized fight for talent, this time it will be a truly global battle. As a result, I'm giving it the moniker "Worldwide War II for Talent" or "WWII for Talent" for short. There are many reasons why WWII will soon begin.

Retaining

This Way to the Exit Interview

A custom or tradition is often accompanied by a ceremony that can trace its origins to the early days of a culture, tribe, or family. During Thanksgiving my father and I would be given the wings off the turkey fresh out of the oven. This reminds me of the average exit interview. It's a ritual that has survived the ages despite the questionable contribution it makes to the overall wellness of the company. But it just doesn't feel like a resignation without an exit interview!

I've worked with many firms over the years, but People First has provided us with excellent candidates, sound advice, and incredible service. I recommend them to any company looking to hire the best.
