Vancouver Recruiters

Dear HR Managers and Business Owners,

July and August are the months of choice for many employers taking vacation time in Canada. But how much recovery is really going on during these vacations?

According to a Netscape Canada/Leger Marketing survey of 1,585 Canadians, 36 per cent of those heading off to on vacation this summer will be packing their laptop and work documents alongside their cooler, swim suit and sunscreen.

Employers often talk about being "people-focused", an "employer of choice" and promoting work-life balance. But few take real action when it comes to dealing with increasing expectations and deadlines. The number of people who now report that they can't find balance has increased dramatically.

In a seller's market for top employees, organizations are starting to take it seriously. It's not good enough any more to talk about being best practice, you actually have to live best practices.

So how does your company ensure it addresses the needs of job candidates looking for work life balance? Are your employees taking their work with them on vacation this month?

Cheers,

Why Should I Work for Your Company?

A value proposition is the sum total of people initiatives, standards, and programs that support business goals. A strong value proposition differentiates one company from another and the great companies from the mediocre ones. With this in mind, if you want to have the best candidates accept your offer over the offers of competing companies, the value proposition needs to be strong enough to make "the sale".

Helping Employees Cut Back on Overload

At a time when most employers are piling on more work, a small but growing number of companies are actually taking steps to reduce workloads. While corporate efforts to streamline work aren't new, the latest moves are different in two ways. They are driven by employee dissatisfaction, not budget-cutting. And they have two purposes -not only increasing productivity, but improving work-life balance.
