Dear HR Managers and Business Owners, A new poll of full-time working Canadians, conducted by Ipsos Reid on behalf of TripHarbour, found that only two in ten (21%) Canadians are never electronically inaccessible from work. An additional 15% only power down after 10pm, and 13% are unavailable after 7pm. Although the short term gains of constant productivity can seem alluring, the long term implications can be dire for organizations. Experts say that one of the most common misconceptions about employee burnout is that it's an individual problem, rooted in a single worker's inability to handle stress. In reality, one employee's burnout is often a sign of a deeper issue that will drastically reduces an organization's ability to retain employees. Considering the expense of hiring and training new people, learning how to spot burnout early can be an essential skill. This month's article explores this critical issue. Cheers,

"People First found great candidates for us and generally simplified the process of hiring. We've used their recruiting team on two occasions and plan to use them again in the future. I consider the fee we pay to People First to be a smart investment."
