Our Client is a British Columbia owned and operated glazing contractor that specializes in commercial, institutional, tilt-up warehouses and high-end residential glazing.  Since 1985 have shown clients time and time again they excel at what they do and have a vast portfolio of projects to show for it.  Our Client has made clients exceedingly satisfied with their professional team and have provided the highest quality products and services available. People First Solutions are searching for a Construction (Glazier) Project Manager to handle the planning, coordination, and communication of all aspects of new and remodel construction projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute projects. You will assume responsibility for new projects from submittal stage through completion, including oversight of shop drawings, other submittals, and project closeout.
  • Build an efficient, high functioning team. Ensure that your team adheres to established schedules, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
  • Consistently and professionally communicate with client representatives, vendors, subcontractors, and internal customers.
  • Review assigned projects to establish critical path milestones, action plans, and schedules.
  • Confirm the accuracy of and the scope of new work.
  • Project and track assets, including materials, labor, and other resources; initiate corrective actions as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor the field staff and manage hiring and performance concerns.  

 

Requirements:

  • 5 -7 years as a Project Manager in a construction and commercial glazing environment.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, contract process, cost reporting and team management.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
  • Working knowledge of pricing changes, design assist and the fabrication process is required.
  • Good knowledge of trade specific concepts, processes and techniques.
  • AutoCAD experience an asset
  • Team Player
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Must be extremely organized and exhibit a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter and willing to take the initiative
  • Ability to handle a fast pace culture
  • Strong self-management skills to ensure timely and accurate issue of project deliverables

 

Education: 

  • Related post-secondary education is preferred.
