Megapro is searching for the Langley Operations Manager to oversee the Langley operation and be a part of the growing team.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be part of the team who leads the production, purchasing, material planning, inventory control, quality, and logistics activities in the Langley facility. This individual will report to the Operations Manager and contribute to leadership decisions.
The Responsibilities:
- Actively collaborate in setting the strategic direction of the company, make recommendations to improve operational efficiency
- Map process flows to eliminate waste and meet Megapro’s strategic goals, ensure inventory accuracy with a robust inventory control process
- Ensure customer expectations are exceeded, customer service is a priority and all deliveries are on time
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase production capacity and decrease costs
- Evaluate daily production reports regarding labour-hours, machine hours, output, quality and material usage as compared to standards
- Schedule production in a way that’s realistic and achievable to meet on time deliveries
- Determine if the right people are in the right roles – make necessary changes to increase efficiency
- Set-up new product part numbers and bill of materials in ERP, educate others and demonstrate clear concise communication skills
- Create and maintain a flexible workforce where mutual respect and cooperation is maintained
The Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a manufacturing and distribution in an operations leadership role, a diploma or degree in business
- Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, ISO 9001 and/or continuous improvement has in-depth knowledge of operations including administration, safety and quality control
- General knowledge and training in manufacturing principles and processes, previous experience with a Materials Resource Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is required
- Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, a consummate communicator who understands the impact of communication
- Naturally leverages communication skills for success within the company and externally with customers and distributors
- Ability to make decisions and give clear and concise directions to carry them out, strong negotiation and follow-up skills, attends to the needs of the customer
- A team player, who consistently leverages talent and expertise within the operation
- Entrepreneurial, ambitious, and competitive, demonstrates energy and a sense of urgency in executing day-to-day responsibilities
- Strong computer skills with the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Able to travel to the United States
