Jet Pet Resort is 5-star, multi-location pet boarding and daycare facility with two locations in Vancouver and one in North Vancouver. The facilities cater to cats and dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments. Each pet guest is treated as an individual and the Jet Pet team knows how to entertain all personality types, from relaxed cats, shy canines, to playful puppies and energetic dogs. Jet Pet Resorts is searching for a General Manager to oversee all three locations and make a valuable contribution to the team. The opportunity for future  ownership is available for the right person.

The Role:

This individual will report to the owner and effectively manage the day-to-day operations, strategize opportunities for revenue growth, oversee sales, and lead the team effectively. This role requires senior-level management experience with exceptional customer service, consistent interaction with guests and the team throughout the day. This natural leader will gain immediate trust and rapport with the customers, have a hands-on leadership style and a can-do attitude.

The Responsibilities:

  • Foster a sales culture that values transparency, accountability, excellence, customer service and customer satisfaction
  • Lead by example, work closely with Managers and Assistant Managers within each facility
  • Communicate expectations and consistently provide coaching and training to employees when needed, adept at reading people below the surface
  • Engage the team, make the sales process fun by Initiating team building events, focus on continual improvement and inspire others to do the same
  • Take initiative, demonstrate adaptability and unwavering resilience, proven ability to turn challenging opportunities into sales opportunities
  • Attract and retain top performing talent, let non-performers go, evaluate ongoing employee performance and coordinate annual reviews
  • Oversee marketing and ensure there is a growing online presence and a continued plan to build a following
  • Overall, “Do What It Takes” to have the company live up to its value proposition to our customers and team members

The Requirements:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a leadership role, demonstrated knowledge of operations, sales, financial reporting and human resources – a true generalist
  • Entrepreneurial, ambitious, competitive, demonstrates energy and a sense of urgency in executing day-to-day responsibilities, a desire to own a portion of the business is an asset
  • Passionate about animals, ability to build rapport with customer/pet immediately, desire to provide a customer/pet experience that exceeds expectations and is unparalleled within the industry
  • Proven track record in direct sales and/or in customer service with up-selling responsibilities, experience growing marketing presence through social media platforms
  • A dynamic individual who is eager to take on new challenges, has a strong work ethic, and is committed to achieving results, experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen or equivalent is an asset, but not required
  • A team player, who consistently leverages talent and expertise within the operation, thrives working autonomously, is results oriented and driven to get things done
  • A quick learner who is comfortable asking questions, has the ability to adapt, take ownership and fill the gaps to keep the operation running smoothly
  • A natural relationship builder who brings creative thinking and a “can do” attitude, strong follow-up skills, attends to the needs of the customer
  • Flexibility to work during peak periods when Assistant Managers and Managers aren’t available and be on call when necessary
  • A strong desire for personal and professional growth, continuous learning, increased self awareness and self improvement
  • The ability to lead by example and live up to service expectations and values
  • Has excellent computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, Microsoft office 365 and Quickbooks
